The Chelsea defender Ashley Cole wants to quit Stamford Bridge and move to Spain to play for one of the big teams in La Liga. The defender has two years left on his £120,000-a-week contract and wants to make one final move in his career.
According to the Metro, Ashley Cole would like to play for Barcelona or Real Madrid, where his former manager Jose Mourinho is in charge, but he will only go if he can convince his ex-wife Cheryl to come live with him in Spain.
The couple divorced in 2010 and the left-back sees it as an opportunity to repair their relationship. According to a source that spoke to the Daily Mirror: “Ashley has told friends he sees his future abroad and he wants to persuade Cheryl to come with him. It all boils down to what Cheryl wants, but the early signs are she would be up for the idea”.
Cheryl has recently lost her job as an X-Factor judge and has returned to the UK, so she could be free to join Ashley in Spain.
Ashley Cole was an Arsenal player for seven seasons until he moved to Chelsea in 2006. He has played in 213 games for Chelsea helping them to win the Premier League, three FA Cups and the League Cup.
yeah we should let him go, time for Coentrao to join us. The Portuguese is young, talented and a good opportunity to join Luz and Ramrez his old pals. AVB knows hm very well too!! up blues
if cole goes we need to get coentrao or we are in trouble as i dont see many left backs that could fill a void left by cole , coentrao would be perfect !! sign him up andre !!
I believe we still need him, @ least for 1 more season, but if he insist he wants to leave, then chelsea should let him go, and get a new replacement
