It’s being reported this morning that Carlo Ancelotti has decided to let Franco Di Santo go to Blackburn on loan for the whole of next season, as he is unlikely to get many first-team chances at Chelsea, especially now that Daniel Sturridge has arrived.
Sam Allardyce has admired Di Santo for some time, and after seeing him play an excellent game against Club America last week, has promised him regular first team football.
The Argentinian has been at Stamford Bridge for 18 months but has only played nine competitive games for Chelsea, despite impressing when he does get his chances. But at just 20 years-old he has lots of time to mature.
Franco said yesterday: “It’s my idea to play with Chelsea. But if that’s not an option, a loan is not a bad idea. It’s nice that they don’t want to sell me,” he said.
He is a regular Argentina U20 international and has scored 5 times in 25 appearances for his country, but he is still qualified to play for the Italian team as he holds an Italian passport.
I think it would be great to see him play regularly for Blackburn, i have always been impressed when i’ve seen him play, and he is capable of being a future Chelsea star.
