This time Chelsea are determined to use all its resources in the battle for Ajax’s defender, Gregory Van der Wiel, against some of Europe’s giant football clubs such as Real Madrid or Roma.
The 24-year old defender is looking for a new challenge, saccording to talkSport, and he will gladly offer his services to one of the many big powerhouses that are willing to put up a decent fight for the defender’s signature.
Van der Wiel has a lot of experience gained among the years playing for both club and country, the right-back having been capped no less than 25 times for Holland, also including his apeareance in the 2010 World Cup final.
Last year Chelsea was a step away from signing the energetic right-back, same as Bayern Munich, the only drawback was the expensive price-tag, nearing £20million, but as Wiel’s contract is set to expire in six months Ajax will no doubt ask for less money.
Roma and Real Madrid are both regarding the right-back with interest, who will surely leave The Amsterdam Arena when the European Championships come to an end.
Should Chelsea complete the signing of van der Wiel, then he would surely prove to be an exciting addition to Chelsea’s squad.
