Chelsea beat Arsenal and Man Utd to young Brazilian star

According to reports this morning, Chelsea believe that they have won the chase to sign the Brazilian wonderkid, Lucas Piazon, from Sao Paolo.

The Daily Mirror says that Chelsea have sent a delegation to South America this weekend to finalise a deal for the 15 year-old attacking midfielder, after fighting off interest from Arsenal and Man Utd.

Piazon is captain of the Brazil U15 team, and was watched by Chelsea scouts recently when he scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Bolivia, which persuaded the Blues to pounce immediately for the young prodigy.

He has been favourably compared to Kaka at that age, and is thought to be a guaranteed superstar of the future, which is why Chelsea have decided to move fast before he is snapped up by another top team.

With the FIFA transfer ban suspended, Chelsea will have to act quickly so that they have the players in place in case their appeal is quashed and they are still given a ban of two transfer windows.
