Chelsea close in on Petr Cech replacement
Chelsea are interested in signing goalkeepr Thibaut Courtois from Belgium side Genk but may face competition for his signature from Atletico Madrid. Courtois is just 19 but is regarded as one of the most talented young goalkeepers in Europe.
TalkSport Radio is reporting that Chelsea are interested in bringing the youngster to Stamford Bridge. They are trying to sign the player before the start of the pre-season training but many of Europe’s top clubs are now interested in Courtois and a bidding war may start.
Reports from Spain are saying that Atletico Madrid are especially interested since their current goalkeeper David de Gea is set to leave for Manchester United this summer.
Courtois has been a senior player at Genk since 2008 but has broken into the first side this season, making 40 appearances. He was voted goalkeeper of the year and the Genk player of the year.
Current goalkeeper Petr Cech is 29 years and will have several years left at Stamford Bridge but the Chelsea management is looking to add young blood to the Chelsea squad in all positions.
Good. Its a sign that Chelsea is thinking long term. We do need a good replacement keeper.
yeh cech have cause more harm than good to chelsea.concedes cheap goal and run after goal instead of diving.he is unpredictable

Peter cech is still great..but however…a young new Good replacement in hand will be always welcome
petr cech should stay because is ranked number 3 in the world of goalkeepers
what we /fans/ have to offer them/players coach/is just to appreciate their effort cus they ar there to make their fans happy and am very sure ALL chelsea players,board ar workin towards that.

Good signing if it happens, because we need a replacement for cech he plays too many games per season! He needs breaks. But I’m sick of all this rumours of chelsea are interested in so nd so nd not doing anything bout it! move in 4 the kill! Get all these players because I swear if we dont get a striker, two midfielders nd a right back then I swear I’m jumping ship! Chelsea needs change nd It needs to happen now! Can we win champions league? not with this current squad no!!
