Chelsea didn't just sign Torres!

Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti finally bought David Luiz to Stamford Bridge last night after long drawn out negotiations with his former club Benfica.

Previous talks had broken down with Benfica, who were looking to quash any deal, because they were unhappy at the prospect of being paid in instalments, but Chelsea`s latest offer, believed to be £21.3m was finally accepted by the Portuguese club.

Speaking late last night after completing a medical at Chelsea`s training base Luiz said, “I am delighted to be joining a big English club. It is a major challenge for me but I am determined and confident in my ability to adapt to this excellent league, and I look forward to meeting my new team-mates.”

Luiz will join fellow Brazilians, Ramires and Alex at the Bridge which is sure to make his move to England a lot easier as he looks to adapt to Chelsea`s style of play and the fast pace of the Premier League.
