Chelsea linked with out-of-favour Barca midfielder

Chelsea have today been linked with a move for Barcelona flop Alex Song.

The Ex-Arsenal midfielder was voted second in a readers vote for the worst signing of the season in Marca, a Spanish newspaper. Luka Modric picked up the tag of worst signing.

Song moved to Barcelona from Arsenal for £15million in the summer, and has only managed to earn 6 starts so far this term, with one substitute appearance.

Barca are expected to offload the defensive midfielder back to the Premier League, with a return to the Gunners not being an option. The Cameroon international slammed previous club Arsenal over their lack of ambition, and seemed to be forced out of the club over the summer.

Chelsea and Liverpool were named as the most likely options for the midfielder according to Spanish Marca, although I would assume Chelsea would turn down the chance to sign the Barca flop.

Chelsea already have a host of highly rated players who currently play in the same position, with the likes of David Luiz, Mikel, Ramires and even Ryan Bertrand able to play in that position. All of these players are valued highly at Chelsea.

Chelsea are in the hunt for an attacking midfielder however, with Luka Modric, Marouane Fellaini and Willian all possibilities.

We were heavily linked with a move for Brazilian Paulinho, although I did not believe he would fit into our system, and I believe the same about Song. Maybe I’m wrong…?

I would much prefer song then mikel and I would also prefer Oscar to play alongside luiz When and if lampard is leaving I think he would be perfect in that role good passer great vision pace just lacks strength maybe? Would take a lot Of getting used to for him but would work
