Chelsea linked with young Serie A striker

Chelsea may still be on course for the League and FA Cup Double, but their aging squad is definitely in need of some young blood. Although Roman Abramovich has reportedly put a ban on all contract negotiations and Transfer dealings until the season reaches its climax, Chelsea are still the subject of many transfer rumours in the Sunday papers.

The People is claiming that Chelsea are showing an interest in the 23 year old Palermo striker Edinson Cavani, who has scored ten goals this season in Serie A. Cavani is a Uruguayan international and at 6ft is expected to be able to cope with the Premiership defences.

The paper is not too confident though as they also say that Chelsea will face competition from Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United for the youngsters signature.

Another hindrance to any transfer talk is the fact that Cavani still has three years left on his contract with Palermo!
