Chelsea loan Ryan Bertrand to Reading
An official announcement on the Chelsea website says that Ryan Bertrand may be joining Reading on loan next season.
The statement says: “An agreement has been reached with Reading for Ryan Bertrand to train with the Championship side with view to a loan.
If the temporary move does go through then Bertrand will be reunited with former Chelsea reserve and youth team manager Brendan Rodgers in a division the left-back knows well, having spent the last season-and-a-half playing on loan with Norwich, where he made 57 appearances.
The 19-year-old is beginning his fifth year as a Chelsea player having signed from Gillingham and has been capped at England Under 21 level. He has yet to make his Chelsea first team debut.”
Yet another English youngster goes out on loan. Should Chelsea be trying to give him the occasional game with the first team? Don’t we want to see more of our youngsters come through?
