Chelsea rumour: Aug 26th – Chelsea to bid for De Guzman?

The Daily Mail is reporting today that Frank Arnesen was in Holland to watch the U21 Dutch international Jonathon De Guzman at the weekend, and is expected to make a bid this week.

De Guzman is entering the last year of his contract at Feyenoord, and the Mail says that they are resigned to losing him imminently, and will expect around £4m for the 21 year-old.

I am very loathe to think that there might be any truth in this. Although De Guzman has had favourable reports in the last couple of years, he is unlikely to move to a club where he would be a reserve at best for a couple of years.

Not to mention that Ancelotti has announced that there will no more arrivals or departures this window anyway.

So, in conclusion, I think this rumour gets a measly 0/10!
