Nemanja Matic is back in the frame to arrive at Chelsea as fourth choice striker, according to reports today. The player claimed about a month ago that he had already agreed to move to Chelsea, but his club denied knowing anything about the deal. It was rumoured to be £2.5m back then, but today the Mirror says it will be £4m. as agreed with his club Kosovice, but there is a possibility that Middlesbrough could hijack the deal and offer him first-team football. Personally i think he will be a good buy, but he must be given some chances to play, just as much as Daniel Sturridge.
Michael Mancienne’s move to Wolves on loan for another season has been a long time possibility, but it seems that the delay was caused by contract negotiations between the player and Chelsea. Reports today say that he will sign a new four-year deal with Chelsea before being allowed to move to Molineaux for some regular first-team football. Good news all round there.
Nicolas Anelka’s agent says that he is now ready to negotiate a new contract. “I think we will be having talks with Chelsea next week about Nicolas’ contract,” his agent Doug Pingisi told skysports.com.
“Nicolas has two years left on his present contract and I think Chelsea would like to extend it.
“We plan to sit down and have talks with Chelsea about Nicolas’ future.”
This one i’m not too sure about. I have never been a fan of Anelka. He is surly and sulky, and misses too many chances to give me hope that he will improve. I think Chelsea should wait and see if he starts scoring now that he will be playing as second striker alongside Drogba. If he doesn’t make it in the first couple of months we can assume he bever will.
