Returning Chelsea ace, Callum Hudson-Odoi, has said that he is really happy with his decision of staying at Stamford Bridge after Bayern Munich interest.
The winger said that that he had made the right decision of staying with the Blues amidst interest from the Bundesliga giant. The German club made several attempts and bids for the young winger, but the bosses from Stamford Bridge rejected all offers during the January transfer window. The youngster reportedly even made attempts to force the move and handed the transfer requests.
The ace winger was eventually convinced to remain with the Blues after getting more playing time and made it with the England national team. England’s boss Gareth Southgate added Hudson-Odoi to the Three Lions squad before his progress was staked when he suffered from an injury on his Achilles tendon.
Despite rupturing his Achilles tendon in April, Hudson-Odoi was offered a new five-year contract worth £100,000-a-week.
Callum Hudson said, “The club have done so much for me and I am so thankful for that. “The decision that I made was a very good one for me and my family. We all thought that it was the right club to be at.” He added, “I have been here all my life, so there is no need to change yet. My mum and dad are happy where they are and I am happy where I am.”
Callum was instrumental in the opening goal against Southampton. A wonderful pass to Tammy Abraham opened the scoring binge against Southampton. Abraham received the ball and looped it over Saints goalkeeper, Angus Gunn. It is Abraham’s nine goals in 11 appearances for the Blues.
Hudson-Odoi said that he is really glad how things are currently working out for him.
