Chelsea still great odds to win this year's Premiership title

Chelsea seem to have firmly re-established themselves as a force in the English Premier League. Andres Villas Boas efforts to revamp Chelsea the hard way are becoming a distant memory after the Champions League title win under Di Matteo and the subsequent signings of some of the world’s finest attacking talents.

After the Andres Villas Boas episode, the first thing Chelsea had to do was to stop the rot and re-instil some spirit and belief which was the key behind their successes under Jose Mourinho. Di Matteo was well thought of by Chelsea’s most vocal dressing room players and this quickly showed as the team became more cohesive and began to play more to their recognised strengths.

This didn’t necessarily mean Villas Boas was wrong in trying to bring a new way of playing to Chelsea and Di Matteo has followed suit as Chelsea’s formations look set to follow more European lines next season.

Chelsea have signed a raft of players that can ‘play between the lines’; in front of the opposition’s defence and behind their midfield. These types of false number nine feature prominently across Europe and were the key behind Spain’s recent victory at the Euros.

Chelsea have signed Oscar for around £25 million and Eden Hazard for around £32 million. They’ll compliment the likes of Mata and Ramires perfectly, providing the ammunition for a rejuvenated Fernando Torres. Chelsea could be a good bet for the league title next season if you fancy longer odds than those on offer for Man United and Man City. The various internet online casino and bookmakers offer odds from around 7/2 to 5/1 illustrating how difficult Chelsea are to judge right now. Some casinos even ride the hype by offering football themed games, like the nostalgic slots on Lucky Nugget. The slots is a great way to celebrate the glorious past.

If you get tickets to watch Chelsea play next season, there’s a good chance you’ll be watching some of the finest attacking football in Europe.
