Chelsea target's wages are no problem

Monaco midfielder Jerko Leko is said to be heading to England in the upcoming transfer window with Chelsea known admirers.

The Croatian appears to be frustrated over the lack of 1-st team participation since the arrival of Monaco’s new coach; Guy Lacombe and if the rumours are true then it is Stamford Bridge he is headed for.

The 29 y.o. international told L’Equipe: “I cannot be content with only a few appearances.

” I am no longer 20 years old…and I want to go somewhere else.

“Playing in either Germany or England is an option for a future move.”

In the summer of 2008, Leko was a reported interest of Glasgow Celtic, and his compatriot Dado Prso (a former Glasgow Rangers striker) was said to have advised him in favour of such a move.

Last summer Leko was also linked with EPL newly promoted outfit Wolverhampton, who could not afford his wages, a problem that Chelsea will not encounter.

4 Croats already play in EPL, namely Corluka and Kranjcar (Tottenham), Eduardo (Arsenal) and Klasnic (Bolton).
