Chelsea to swap Mancienne and Pizarro for Pirlo? Rubbish!

I don’t know where the Daily Mail dreams their stories up, but they just get wilder and wilder! Look at this one…..

Chelsea have been linked with an £8.6million move for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo that would see Claudio Pizarro and England Under 21 defender Michael Mancienne go in the other direction.

Reports in Italy have long been expecting 30-year-old Pirlo to follow his former boss Carlo Ancelotti to Stamford Bridge, despite Milan’s insistence that he is not for sale and the player saying he is happy to stay at the San Siro.

Yes Pizarro will very likely be moving, but the odds are Chelsea will come to an arrangement with Werder Bremen, or perhaps another German club as Claudio seems to like it there.

Mancienne is not going to make Chelsea’s first team this season, but as he is tipped for future stardom it makes sense to send him out on loan again, probably to Wolves.

But why on earth would we want another 30 year-old midfielder! That is just NOT going to happen, and, as the Mail said, Pirlo “is not for sale and the player saying he is happy to stay at the San Siro.”

Worst rumour of the day in my book!
