Chelsea transfer rumours Dec 4th – Mario Balotelli and Andrea Ranocchia

Despite the Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti continually saying that he doesn’t need to buy anyone in the January transfer window, the papers still keep coming up with Chelsea transfer rumours.

This Mario Balotelli link keeps popping up, but simply because Ancelotti said that he thought he was a good player and he would get a place in team.

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has also said that Balotelli won’t be leaving, but that hasn’t stopped the gossip. In fact they now say that Arsenal are also considering a bid because of Wenger’s need for another striker.

I doubt very much that this one is going anywhere.

The second rumour is also highly dubious. Andrea Ranocchia has been linked with a move away from Italy because of his impressive performances for Serie B side Bari this season. He is currently on loan from Genoa, so surely the Serie A side will just be looking to have him back as an improved player rather than sanction a transfer.

Anyway the quote from Ranocchia simply says that IF he moved to England, he would probably favour Chelsea, but only because Ancelotti is in charge. In fact the Italy U21 international starts off by saying that he thought it much too early to consider a move out of Italy!

“My future is in the hands of Genoa,” Ranocchia said. “Until they call me, I prefer not to think about it.

“I am sure that I will play in Bari until June and I think only to do well for Bari.

“Interest from England? I don’t know, but I think it is premature for me to venture abroad.

“Even more experienced players often have difficulty outside Italy. Maybe Chelsea, but just because there’s Carlo Ancelotti.”

So the only two rumours don’t really amount to much i’m afraid. Perhaps the papers will do better tomorrow!
