Chelsea are being very secretive about their transfer dealings but that hasn’t stopped the papers linking the Blues with top class players from all over Europe. The latest name to be added to the list is the exciting young German international Mesut Ozil. He has made it clear that he is keen on a move by refusing to sign a new contract at Werder Bremen as it enters its final year, and the Daily Mail seems convinced that Chelsea will rival Man City in a bidding war starting at around £20m….
Another exciting possibility is the Valencia star David Silva, who has also been linked with moneybags City as well as Chelsea. The Spanish club are desperate to balance the books and having sold David Villa, are also expected to let David Silva follow him out the door.
It is being reported that he is now keen on a move to the Premiership, and Stamford Bridge and the Eastlands are the only viable destinations for a player of his stature. Hopefully the promise of Champions League football will persuade him that Chelsea are the club to join. I, for one, think he would be the perfect replacement for Joe Cole………
Another Spaniard being strongly linked with Chelsea is Sergio Ramos, and the Real Madrid defender is reportedly unhappy with the wages he gets compared to all the Galacticos in the team. The Spanish paper, Sport has said that Chelsea have offered to triple his wages if he moves to the Premiership. He is obviously very talented but with the amount of top class defenders already populating the Chelsea back line, I’m not sure that we would have room for him, especially at a reportedly massive £48m transfer fee….
It has been an open secret for a while that Yaya Toure is not happy at Barcelona, and it has been announced that he is definitely going to be moving to the Premiership after the World Cup. Yet again Man City are the likeliest rivals for his signature, but it has also been suggested that the 27 year-old may prefer to join his fellow Ivory Coast stars, Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou at Stamford Bridge.
Toure said yesterday: “I have said for a long time that I want to play in the Premier League. For me, the Premier League is a very good competition and I love that. After the World Cup I will decide what I want to do.”
Now that Michael Ballack has been released Chelsea are in need of another strong midfielder, but he seems to be such a mercenary I expect him to go where the money is; and that means Man City!

Its Ancelotti our manager, the one who used to be a Wenger at Ac Milan, and this is one of the reasons why we hired him. One ‘marquee signing’ as said by Bruce will not be of more than 30m pounds., that coulbe be Silva then. We wont buy a reknowned defender, only young and unknown might come.
