Chelsea transfer rumours Nov 18th 09 – Micah Richards, Aguero, Hamsik and Di Maria

The papers are full of Chelsea transfer rumours this morning as the international break gives them little else to talk about, but there seems to be a hell of a lot of confidence that Sergio Aguero is very close to becoming a Chelsea player.

The young Argentinian superstar is having a bad start to the season with his club Atletico Madrid, and the Daily Telegraph this morning is convinced that a deal will be struck with the Spanish giants in the next few days.

It seems that Chelsea representatives met up with Aguero’s agent, Bruno Satin, yesterday to do the final negotiations on the move, with Atletico trying to prise £50m out of Abramovich, while Chelsea are looking to pay no more than £40m.

The Telegraph also say that Atletico and Satin are desperately searching the South American market to line up another big-name replacement to soothe the Atletico fans.

Aguero will be ineligible to play in the Champions League for the Blues, but with Chelsea refusing so far to discuss a contract extension with Nicolas Anelka so far this season, it could mean the end of the France international’s first team place next season.

Marek Hamsik is another player that has been strongly linked with Chelsea lately, but yesterday the Napoli boss Riccardo Bigon (great name!) has denied that there has been any approaches from Stamford Bridge.

“There has not been any direct or indirect contact with Chelsea for Marek Hamsik. He will stay with us,” Bigon said.

Angel Di Maria, the Benfica winger, is another that his been heavily linked with a move to West London, and yesterday said that he had come close to signing for Arsenal a couple of yars ago, but the Telegraph has said that the price wanted by the Portugese giants is too far above Chelsea’s valuation.

What about Man City’s unsettled defender Micah Richards? Chelsea were linked with a move for him in the summer as he has fallen out of favour with Mark Hughes, but i can’t see him getting much chance to play with the back four that Chelsea already have available.

So it looks like Aguero is the one to be on today, and it is a signing that will will definitely add quality in the area that will definitely be lacking when Drogba and Kalou go off to the African Nations Cup in January.

I would take those four players straight away. And with those four i believe that we should be able to win the premiership with that. i think we need maybe another striker who isnt cup tied for the CL just for cover but then again we will have a big attack then as we would have Di Santo back aswell after january. But yh deffienately would have those four players
