Chelsea v Marseille highlights – Easy for the Blues

Chelsea made mincemeat of Marseille in the first half of this Champions League match and they now look odds on favourites to win the group. Didier Deschamps didn’t have a happy return to Stamford Bridge but he saw his old team looking imperious.

Deschamps said after the game: “We knew that Chelsea would be better physically and technically than us, but I was very disappointed about the first half as we lacked aggression all around the pitch. Second half however we did much better and could easily have scored.”

Chelsea seemed to relax in the second half, probably trying to save their legs for the big match against Arsenal on Sunday, but they took the points easily enough.

It was good to see them come back to winning ways so quickly after last weeks disappointment.
