Chelsea turned in a brilliant display today to show Man Utd that they mean business in the title race. Chelsea needed a good win to maintain the goal difference ahead of their challengers, and they were 3-0 up at half-time through a brace from Salomon Kalou and a penalty from Frank Lampard.
After the break they seemed to have relaxed a bit but suddenly they got back into top gear. Kalou slipped in for his hat-trick, then Lampard got his second. Sturridge, who replaced Kalou, managed to get his name on the scoresheet, and then Florent Malouda finally scored after missing a sitter from just three feet from the goal.
You won’t see an easier win this year in the Premiership! But seriously, it should have been eight!
