The Chelsea youngster Patrick Van Aanholt enjoyed two loan spells away from Stamford Bridge last season. His first loan spell was to Coventry City where he made 20 appearances in the first half of the season and he then later went onto a short one month loan deal to Newcastle United where he made 7 appearances.
The 20 year old left back has currently only made 8 appearances for Chelsea, with six of them coming this season and he even scored a goal against Newcastle United in the Carling Cup in September, but he hasn’t had much luck breaking into the Blues first team even during the recent defensive crisis
It has been confirmed by Chelsea FC that Van Aanholt will move to Leicester City on loan until the end of the season. Sven Goran Eriksson will welcome Van Aanholt to his squad and hopefully he’ll aid their campaign to gain promotion to the Premiership, and gain some much-needed first team experience.
Leicester are currently sitting in 11th place in the Championship and are only 6 points away from a play-off position.
