Di Matteo – Has he done enough to be Chelsea's manager next season?

The Italian manager Roberto Di Matteo managed to pull Chelsea up from the terrible position where Portuguese coach Andres Villas-Boas left it, and turn the season around for the Blues, finishing in an amazing manner by winning the Champions League trophy.

The Italian coach is only the second manager in history who has managed to win the trophy after being named as a substitute for the manager the club started its season with, and the record is even more impressive because it’s the first Champions League trophy in Chelsea’s history.

“It was very stressful. It is an amazing achievement by the players.”, declared Di Matteo after the game. “The preparation for this match wasn’t ideal, with the suspensions and the injuries.

“We went for 120 minutes with players who haven’t played for three weeks, four weeks. It is incredible the passion and pride these boys have to bring the trophy home.”

Despite the win, the coach refused to speak about his future, and when asked if he’s going to stay, he replied: “I am going to have a big party tonight with the trophy with the big ears.”

Abramovihc must offer him a contract now given that he even managed to qualify the team for next season’s Champions League competition through this win. Di Matteo proved to be an amazing manager, and it’s certain that he will be with Chelsea next season too…..or is it?
