Didier Drogba believes that this will be Chelsea’s year. Having kept John Terry while all the other top clubs were losing a star or two has given him the confidence to believe Chelsea will win the Premiership back from Man Utd this season.
He said: “Every one of the top four sides has lost has lost at least one of their big stars this summer – apart from Chelsea.
“Manchester City came in for John Terry, but we all knew he would never go. He loves the club, and I think it was a very easy decision for him to stay.
“There is a lot of belief here and the reason the players don’t want to leave is because they believe we are on the verge of something special.”
“The Premier League is very important for us and it’s been three years now since we have won it. We believe we will bring it back here this year.”
Having scored again today, along with Nicolas Anelka, to help Chelsea to a majestic 2-0 win over local rivals Fulham. Drogba is also on course for an excellent season as well as the club.
He can now look forward to a home game against newly-promoted Burnley next week, who have now beaten Man Utd and Everton in their last two games.
Let’s hope Chelsea can keep their run going.
