" €35m for Willian" says Shakhtar boss
Shakhtar Donetsk´s coach Mircea Lucescu has said that they have no intention to sell Willian, but admits they may not have a choice.
Willian has bin in scintillating form for Shakhtar in the Champions League this season, especially in his two performances against Chelsea, where he played his part in each of their 4 goals scored against us, scoring their 2 goals at Stamford Bridge, and has recently been linked with a move to Chelsea and Inter Milan.
His coach Lucescu said: “If Massimo Moratti asks me about Willian, I will tell him that Shakhtar want to achieve things in Europe and will not sell their players. There’s the buy-out clause, though, which is €35m for Willian,”
“Chelsea paid €31m for Oscar this summer. The difference between Willian and Oscar is that Willian is much more mature, and has already plenty of Champions League experience and has played in a strong European league for years.
“The Blues wanted to sign Willian this summer for €20m, but we turned them down. They went for Hazard for over €30m instead. Fact remains that we do not want to sell him.”
With Falcao´s price tag looking around €60 million, this might be a cheaper alternative, or if Roman Abramovich was willing to splash out on both, Willian could play anywhere in midfield or up front. Who wouldn´t want the versatile Willian?
