The top Bundesliga striker Eden Dzeko has been variously linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man Utd in the last few months, and is now ready to leave Wolfsburg after receiving a “good offer”, and wants showdown talks with the Wolfsburg management.
“I hope and think that Wolfsburg will let me go,” Dzeko said. “Last year I wanted to move and was not allowed to go to Milan. The club told me, if a club which is good for me comes in this year then they will let me go.
“It’s not about money and I don’t feel unhappy in Wolfsburg. But it’s now simply about development. Every player has his goals.”
Dzeko had a clause in his contract which would have allowed him to leave for £32.5m, but that expired a month ago.
Dzeko continued: “I am aware of the clause in my contract, but I have already said that at that point in time it would be too early. It was too early for other clubs.
‘Now I have received a good offer I have to talk about it with the manager and the managing director.”
The Wolfsburg general manager Dieter Hoeness doesn’t seem keen to let him go though!
“That he wants to move is nothing new,” said Hoeness. “I can understand him. But the fact is that we are planning for the season with Edin.”
