Evra – Every time I play Chelsea something bad happens!

Evra - Man Utd are underdogs!

The Man Utd defender Patrice Evra is really hoping that his team can get a result at Chelsea on Sunday, because every time he meets them “something bad happens”.

He is also hoping to be on the pitch from the beginning as he says that United have never been defeated by Chelsea when he starts from the kick-off.

“If you ask me for the one game that I want to win above all others each season it’s the game at Chelsea,” said Evra.

“They’re our biggest rivals for the title so we need to be strong. It’s a long time since we won there so it’s about time we put that right.

“Every time I play them something bad happens. There was the trouble on the pitch after one game, then this season there was the incident with Ballack.

“I have to make sure nothing happens this time. I just want to have a good memory and enjoy playing against Chelsea.

“But I’ve never lost against them when I’ve started. We lost in the Community Shield but I never lose when I am in the team from the start, so I want that to continue.”

“I respect Chelsea a lot,” he continued. “I don’t care about them but I have respect for them as a team.

“They are our most dangerous rivals every year. Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba are both great friends of mine and great players.

“If you want to win there you have to keep a clean sheet. So all the defenders will have to focus about this game. That’s how we’ll win it.

“We have to be ready and prepared to defend well. That will be the key. Anelka and Drogba are two very big strikers, so it will be a tough game.

“But we have the quality to win there. Chelsea are top of the league, so when you play well against them and win it’s a really good feeling.

“I have good memories of the Champions League final against them in Moscow. When you win against Chelsea you feel very proud of yourself.”

“I like it when people say we’re not favourites,” said Evra. “The most important thing is that when the game starts, it’s 50-50.

“But I know what people think. People think we’re going there to lose. That’s good motivation for us.”

Man Utd have only won once in their last eleven visits to Stamford Bridge, and it seems to me that Chelsea are definitely going into this game with the most confidence.

Let’s hope “something bad happens” to Evra again tomorrow!
