Frank Lampard Welcomes Chelsea's Underdog Status

Chelsea is getting ready to head into battle, as the Blues are facing the toughest match of the season tonight when they are going to play against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

The Blues have been seen as underdogs ever since they had to play that second leg against Napoli, but despite this they managed to knock out the Italians, and then title holders Barcelona, making it through all the way to the final.

In the final against Bayern, they’re seen as underdogs once more after the Germans defeated Real Madrid, this being also a result of the long string of injuries and suspensions Roberto Di Matteo is faced with before what will certainly be the most important match in his coaching career.

Chelsea’s midfielder, and the man who will captain the club tonight on the pitch, Frank Lampard, seems to be satisfied by the underdog status, considering it an advantage for them.

“The atmosphere here is amazing,”

“But to be underdogs gives you a determination. Bring it on. The fact they’re the home team is a great challenge for us.”

Chelsea’s season will be characterized by the result of tonight’s game. A win could make their season a dream one, while a loss will render it average.
