The young Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is earmarked to be the long-term successor to Petr Cech in Chelsea’s goal, but with Cech preparing to sign a contract extension to keep him at Stamford Bridge for the next five years, Courtois is keen to carry on playing first team football at Atletico Madrid for at least another year after this season ends.
He said: “I am very happy at Atletico and I am living a good experience,” Courtois said. “I would like to stay here one more year and I said this to Chelsea’s manager on Sunday.”
The 19 year-old is currently first choice at Atletico after the departure of David De Gea to Manchester United, which is proof of his outstanding ability and it must surely be to Chelsea’s advantage that he is gaining such high-level experience at such a young age.
I think Chelsea should let him stay for another two years or even more depending on how long Petr Cech can keep going. But there must be a clause inserted that he can be recalled if Cech gets a long term injury. I get scared when Hilario is playing!
A.v.b plz leave coutious to madrid 4 like 2 season to gain an exprience
