Harry Redknapp admits interest in Didier Drogba

The Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that the Chelsea striker Didier Drogba would be a welcome addition to the Spurs team if he became available in January, but he hasn’t yet contacted Chelsea about the possibility.

Redknapp has always enjoyed buying older talented and highly experienced players very cheaply or free (as in William Gallas) so that he can pay them good wages instead, and Drogba could still have a few years left at the top despite being 33 years old.

Redknapp aid: “Drogba is a top player, a fantastic player, so who knows? I couldn’t sit here and say we wouldn’t be interested.

“Anyone would be interested in having him in their team but we have not made any inquiries.”

Drogba’s agent has already stated that the Ivorian will simply move to the club that offers the most money, but can anyone really see Drogba moving to Chelsea’s great local rivals in January?
