Porto’s Brazilian striker Hulk is wishing his former boss Villas-Boas the best of luck in his career at Chelsea but isn’t sure whether he will join him in London. The 24-year-old striker has been successful under Villas-Boas at Porto and has been linked with Chelsea because of their good relationship.
Under Villas-Boas Hulk won a domestic double and the Europa League, he has played 53 games for the side in the past 3 years in which he has scored 37 goals.
TalkSport Radio reported him as saying: “I was told about Villas-Boas leaving when I was in Brazil and I wish him a lot of luck”.
Asked about whether he would follow Villas-Boas to Chelsea he said: “Will I leave Porto? I still have five years left on my contract and I am just thinking about next season”.
If Hulk is to join Chelsea the Blues will first need to get rid of some of their other forwards. Malouda, Kalou, Anelka and Drogba are all candidates to leave the club. Only then would Villas-Boas be justified in bringing in a new forward.
