It seems that the Celtic manager Neil Lennon has managed to win the signature of his top summer target, the Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard.
Hull were keen to get Bullard’s £45,000 a week wages cut from their wage bill as they try to reduce their crippling debt, and the news that he has agreed a 12 month contract with the Scottish giants will be a welcome relief for them.
Bullard has been avaged by injuries last season and still has to go to Parkhead for a medical this week, but all the parties are expecting an official announcement before the end of this week.
Lennon was keen to secure Bullard as quickly as possible, and can now concentrate on bringing in Joe Ledley from Cardiff, and Stoke winger Liam Lawrence, who are his next two priorities.
Lennon himself is still waiting to be confirmed as the next permanent manager at Celtic, but is hopeful of an announcement in the next few days confirming his appointment.
