Lampard to leave Chelsea for China in January?

If reports of a January move to China are true for Chelsea’s Frank Lampard, at least he will have former team mate Didier Drogba to show him around. The 34-year old has been offered a year extension at Chelsea, apparently, but the club will not fight too hard to keep him as they continue with the rebuilding job and restyling under Roberto Di Matteo.

According to the Daily Mirror, Lampard has already agreed to join the Chinese club Guizho Renhe in the southwest of China. Apparently the owner told a Chinese journalist and now it is all over social networks in China. Drogba moved in the summer to Shanghai Shenhua for a massive salary reported to be around £300,000 per week. He has already scored eight goals in 11 games and will no doubt have encouraged Lampard to join him in China.

There will soon be no players left from the Jose Mourinho era, after Di Matteo warned John Terry that his position is no longer secure, and Ashley Cole is looking to move, The England left back has only been offered a one year deal as well and has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Lampard has played nearly 600 games for the Blues since joining from West Ham in 2001. Scoring nearly 200 goals, he has helped Chelsea to win everything in England and the Champions league. Thanks Frank, good luck if you do leave.
