Liverpool To Sign Chelsea Striker?

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is trying to force Chelsea Boss Carlo Ancelotti to sell him to Liverpool for £5million, according to an article in Caughtoffside.

They say that the Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has shown and expressed a interest in signing the the young striker in the up and coming transfer window, and was thought to be preferring a six month loan rather than an outright purchase.

But the former Man City youngster has hopes of leaving Stamford Bridge completely to help Fernando Torres upfront in the Liverpool front line and hopefully take on some of the goal scoring burden from the Spanish hitman.

Would Carlo Ancelotti be looking at off-loading the young striker to Liverpool after only being at Chelsea for less than 18 months, or has he shown his potential enough to persuade the Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti to want him to stay at Stamford Bridge. With the two main strikers Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka being on the wrong side of thirty, can Ancelotti afford to let Sturridge leave?
