Pulis – Chelsea can't have Begovic!

The Stoke manager Tony Pulis has already rejected a bid from Chelsea for his reserve goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, and he says he has no need to sell him, and doesn’t intend to!

Pulis said: “We’re not in a position where we must sell. Chelsea made an enquiry but there’s no need to cash in on him.

“Chelsea have been told he’s not for sale. We’re trying to bring players in, not let our better players go.

“We want him to work with Thomas and let the two of them fight it out.

“I got him on a very good deal from Portsmouth and we want to keep the lad.

“I’ve not made my decision yet on who starts but it’s a nice headache to have.”

With Petr Cech suffering an injury in pre-season, both Hilario and Turnbull were given chances to impress Carlo Ancelotti, but both failed miserably! Oh for the days when we had a world-class substitute in Carlo Cudicini…..
