Ribery admits Chelsea offer, but he's staying in Munich

The Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery has admitted that he has had many offers from clubs this summer, including Chelsea and Man Utd, but the recent rumours that he was going to force Munich to sell him are untrue.

“I never said I wanted to go to Real Madrid,” he told Telefoot.

“If I had wanted to leave, I would have made an announcement. What bothers me is that I have never spoken about it.

“I cannot stop clubs making offers. It was not just Real – there was also Barcelona, Manchester and Chelsea.

“What I can tell them is that today I am still at Bayern. The door was well and truly closed.

“My bosses really want me to stay.”

So the latest paper rumours that Chelsea were going to offer Bosingwa as part of a deal for Ribery are obviously untrue. But as for Franck saying that he had never spoken about leaving, i would have to laugh at. Here is a quote from the giant news agency AP from just two weeks ago.

“It’s decided, I want to leave,” Ribery told sports daily L’Equipe on Thursday. “Yes, it will be to Real or nothing.”

Real Madrid has already spent massive sums in this offseason, signing Kaka from AC Milan, Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United and Karim Benzema from Lyon, along with defender Raul Albiol from Valencia.

“I would like a discussion with the Bayern directors fairly quickly,” the 26-year-old Ribery said.

But i would think from his comments today, he really is going to stay in Munich.
