Roma are reportedly about to go under American ownership. It is apparent that Roma need a change and rumours have linked Carlo Ancelotti to the club’s list of potential new managers.
Reports from Italian magazine La Gazzetta dello Sport state that: ‘Thomas Richard Di Benedetto, an Italo-American business, is very close to completing an agreement with AS Roma’s creditors UniCredit. This deal will see the Giallorossi enter into a new era as they look forward to improve their financial condition.’
AS Roma are reportedly also looking for a change on the managerial front.
La Gazzetta dello Sport also stated: ‘an “Americanized” AS Roma will be looking to lure Carlo Ancelotti out of Chelsea.’
The Italian boss hasn’t been having the best season at Chelsea so far this season and rumours are linking him with a return to the Serie A and a way out of London. This seems to be a good option for the Chelsea manager as he could have the chance to move back to the club that he captained 27 years ago to win the Serie A, and perhaps Ancelotti will be tempted to relive this glory in the eyes of a manager this time and not a player.
