Chelsea youngster Romelu Lukaku said he did not feel any joy after his club won the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup titles, as he feels he was not given any chance to prove himself.
The 19 years old striker would like to get a loan move away from the Premier League. He was bought to Chelsea from Anderlecht by former manager Andre Villas-Boas, but he only managed to gather 12 appearances in the season. The Belgian forward made it clear that if he will not be included in the manager’s plans for the next season, he would like to move on loan outside the Premiership, probably to his former club, Anderlecht.
Chelsea’s striker says that he felt no emotion when his club managed to win the two trophies last season.
Romelu Lukaku told the Belgian newspaper De Standaard that he was sulking in the victory celebrations: “When Kalou put the Cup on my lap in the bus I asked him to take it away immediately.”
“I didn’t want to touch it because, just as with the Champions League I had no part in it at all,”
“I don’t like people talking to me about the Champions League. It wasn’t me, but my team that won it.”
Lukaku’s desire to play more for his team is normal, especially at his age, but it is very difficult to get a place in the starting eleven instead of Didier Drogba or Fernando Torres. Chelsea is a huge club, and almost every match is very important, whether it is a Premier League match or a Cup one, so the Blues must line up their best squad to try and secure the victory.
But in the meantime he is just a petulant teenager that needs to learn to respect his team and his manager. I wish I could sit on the bench at Chelsea and rake in 50,000 a week! Maybe we should send him on loan to somewhere like Scunthorpe where he could play every week but without the pleasure of being part of Chelsea’s victories…..
Even though I can understand his frustration, but he should have known or looked at Chelsea squad before he signed the contract
sorry kid
He need 2 b loan bcus every player wan 2 play.
lukaku is a gud player,bt cant face chelsea competition, their are lots of better player including the presence of hulk, hazard nd marin with in form torres, i will advice him 2 go on loan
Well he is a very stupid boy.How can he be boasting dat he is not moved by de Clubs recent success.Dats being shallow minded.Score crutial goals in de fewest minutes u r given n den u begin to bench goals drought players like Torres e.g Hernandez for Man U played while Berbatove was benched.Who de Hell is gonna give u 3Months to prove ur self at a Club like Chelsea wit great stars!!U r just like ur elder brother Torres who was threatening to quit wen he offerd de Club less dan 10 for 50M Pounds.Rubbish!!
Mike, you’re an idiot who can’t speak English. It is normal for Lukaku to be frustrated. When a player is bought for that much money, they expect to play. I agree that he is not as good as Drogba and Torres yet, but how can he ever hope to get that good if he doesn’t get playing time. They couldn’t loan him out last year because of the rules regarding transfers, but they should have given him opportunities when Drogba and Torres were misfiring. Also, Lukaku didn’t have much opportunity to contribute when Drogba was gone for the Africa Cup of Nations. The wasn’t given a fair shot. The kid has potential. Everyone knows that. Nobody wants to see that wasted, especially not him. That is why his frustration is understandable. His reaction to the FA Cup and Champions league victories is a little dramatic, but he means well. He just wants people to know he isn’t content sitting on the bench and letting others win the silverware. He wants to be a part of winning. Give the kid a chance and be a little patient with him. He’s only 19 after all.
Woah how judgemental are all you lot. This guy is being incredibly humble and honest and is showing true qualities. He didn’t play apart in the CL win and was excluded from the squad and therefore doesn’t feel apart of the win, which is far better than those that celebrated and did bugger all. Terry has made us a laughing stock lifting the trophy when he should of passed the honour on to someone more deserving.
Several other players have complained this season whilst he has worked hard and still not had a chance bar the Carling Cup.
There was a video on showing him wanting to play for Chelsea one day whilst on a trip to Stamford Bridge, this young boy has tried his best and wants to earn his money whilst others will happily sit on the bench and collect their money.
I hope you all feel ashamed when he’s terrorising the EPL in a couple of years, because quite frankly you people and the author of this piece or disgustingly un-supportive.
If this is being a spoilt brat I don’t know what isn’t.This will be my first and last visit to this sight, Good bye.
But at least watch this video of Lukaku expressing his feelings. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoW6BLzzYgA
So what about all of the rubbish he was going on about being a Chelsea fan before he came to us and how he idolised Didier Drogba? His comments don’t sound like those of a Chelsea fan let alone a player! When he was given the odd chance last term he didn’t even look like scoring. The blokes needs his backside kicking into gear and he needs to either grow up fast or ship out.
pls feature dis little boy, give him chance he wil perfect. Lets be fair in dis case but he would hv rejoice with his players. He fucked up but al d same let dem give him chance to play.
Give him a chance to proof himself
With all my respect for Lukaku i have seen him playing in Anderlech and he was absolute beast. But there is a big difference between English premier league and belgian league. When he played for chelsea against liverpool the result was 1-4 for liverpool and he was less than 2m from the goal scoring line. And they gaved him a cross and he missed i hope you do remember. He has to work really hard not to brag only.
In a club like Chelsea,no one can be given 3 month to prove himself.Lukaku is good, but the coach couldn’t risk playing him when all the matches is a must win. He’s a young dude so I understand him…but he should stop saying he wasn’t happy about the trophy the club won
LUKAKU IS NOT AN IDIOT GUY BUT HE IS TRY TO PROUD OF HIM SELF BUT MY ADVICE FOR HIM IS TO GO ON LOAN WITH DOING PREMIERSHIP CLUB LIKE STOKE CITY, FUHLLAM,WINGER,BLACKBOUNE ROVERS,SUNDERLAND OR Q P R, SO THAT HE CAN LEAN MORE ABOUT PREMIER LEAGUE, PLEAS LOAN HIM TO PREMIERSHIP CLUB.
Well for me,I think the boy is overreacting and our personal opinions shouldn’t call for name calling or mud slinging at each other,or threathening to leave the forum.lukaku is still young and is at the stage of trying to fit-in.I think if chelsea paid 18mil pounds for him, they might have been convinced he can deliver.I think his positioning has been faulty given the number of games he has played so far hence his disillussion about his. Chances next season.I think Chelsea should give him a chance during pre season games and work on his confidence during that period and see how he performs alonside torres.if not then they should loan him to stoke city and monitor his performance, same was done for sturridge(who is yet to learn the gians of teamplay);they must help this kid be what he can or should be,a very deadly striker.
This guy is hungry 2 succed pls lets give him a chance i know he can be another hit here
Everyone that getting on lukakus back about him saying he felt no joy when we one the champs league anol well messi must be a spoilt brat too because he missed a final for barca a champs league final and he didnt celebrate or touch the Thropy so please think before you speak idoits
Site even, FML.
he is not a brat. he was given promises, that is why he left his parent club (where he was very successful and idolized) to come to chelsea. the promise of playing, of being part of something, of the spotlight. the floor fell out underneath and he was expressing honest opinion at the shock and disappointment. he is not a brat. a brat would collect his paycheck and say nothing, which is what you narrow minded folks are suggesting he does.
Lukaku is a v.gud player, i’l suggest we loan him 2 any interested premier league club or gv him playing times at chelsea
Toni u watch ur moth, u dnt jst barge into a public site and strt calling pple idiots… That kid Lukaku overspoke on dat issue. The likes of Torres, Drogba also had times when they were prefred so he shld get his ass up nd do more to prove himslf, besides onli d coaches nd d players knw wat goes on on d training ground.. If u dnt convince on d training ground den i cnt risk my games
Your interpretation is not what he said at all, he said he didn’t want to touch the CL cup because he’s never touched anything he didn’t deserve and he wasn’t about to change that. He just said he doesn’t want to reap the benefits from something he had no part in. Learn to read dutch properly!
