Russian Giants Anzhi Chase Chelsea Striker Nicolas Anelka
Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is in the last year of his contract at Chelsea and as yet he or the club have not made a decision on a new contract. He has been attracting interest from a number of clubs and the latest of those is the Russian Premier League side Anzhi Makhachkala.
The Russian side are owned by multi billionaire Suleyman Kerimov and he is the progress of attracting some big names to his club in readiness for an assault on the title next season. Anzhi are currently managed by the Brazilian Roberto Carlos who made their interest known in Anelka when he gave an interview to French TV station Canal Plus.
Andre Villas-Boas is resigned to losing Anelka because only last month when he was asked whether the Frenchman would be leaving Chelsea he simply answered “Yes.”
During the transfer window Anzhi took Yuri Zhirkov off our hands, and last month expressed an interest in Frank Lampard, now it is the turn of Anelka. What do you think guys will Anelka end up in Russia, or should we offer him a new contract?
