Should Chelsea sell David Luiz to Barcelona?
Chelsea’s second transfer of the season might be an awful one for the Blues, as they face the risk of losing the all-important Brazilian center-back David Luiz in the summer to Barcelona. The Catalan club are looking to rebuild after Guardiola will leave, and the process will start at the back where Spanish legend Puyol can’t play at the same amazing level for much longer, so Barca is looking to bring in fresh faces who can take the club back on the pedestal of the world’s best club.
Luiz was brought from Benfica for a massive fee of £24million, but unlike transfers like Torres he has shown his worth and it would now be a tragedy if the Blues will lose him, especially given that Terry doesn’t have much further to go either.
The Brazilian defender is due to receive an offer from Barcelona which will most likely exceed £30m, but Chelsea’s Abramovic is unlikely to accept such an offer for a player he likes as much as he does, and one who has been amazing for Chelsea in such a short time.

This must be a joke of the season. David Luiz for Barca? Its that’s so impossible, I can’t agree to this matter at all. Barca should search inward or better still to other clubs they shouldn’t bother coming to a club that knocked them off their perch, its pityful and shameful so I suggest they look in their acedamy they will definitely find a young Puyol with a large and rough hairdo.
David Luiz is one of the three players (Mata and Ramires the other two) in the current Chelsea squad, who has the potential to up-level to ”world class” category. It would be unthinkable to sell such a player , especially to a rival club at any cost. Along Courtois and Lukaku they could be the ”spine” of the new Chelsea squad, and Luiz seems to qualify as a potential new Captain for the team.
So, NO, we should not sell ”Bob” for the next 8-10 years…
Well put it another way…. HOW MUCH should Chelsea charge Barcelona if they want to buy David Luiz? Simply saying he’s NOT for sale isn’t the way the real world works. Money talks at the end of the day and if Barca want him that badly then of course we’re talking big bucks. The most expensive defender in history remains Rio Ferdinand at about €45m (I’m using Euro as that’s what Barca would be paying in). Recently we’ve seen Pepe and Coentrao to Real for €30m each and I rate Luiz as better than both (once the rough edges are smoothed out!). For me that puts him in the €40m price range. If they offered us that AND he asked to leave then I’d say yes, but only if he wanted to leave!

How can chelsea risk the dangerous situation by selling the most talented defender to their best ever spanish rival. David Luiz must not be sold to the catalans.
Thinking to sell David Luiz is like one going crazy!!Its more dan evident dat He is Chelsea’s Carlos Puyol.Furthermore,he is Chelsea’s future Captain.
It is not a Good thing if Chelsea fc sale our most promising player, dnt for get that he is the player that have the strength and skills as a defender, we building a team not selling a skilfully player like David luiz, if you sale him what is the use that you building a team?
Dats gonna b a big lose 2 chelsea if they should try that act, cos JT is old already and Cahill is nt yet perfect. So let chelsea think twice before they took a wrong decision. Blues will never fall.

its unreasonable if chelsea are selling david luiz to barcelona because puyol is getting past he’s prime age when we have a john terry who is about the same age with puyol.barcelona is a rival club.david luiz is too important to be sold for any price because to me,he is the centre around chelseas future unless barcelona are giving us messi and cuenca.up chelsea!!
Pls… Dont sale luiz, if Barca need him let them use what they have to get what they want by offering messi as an exchange to luiz. Messi is there world best while luiz is our own world best. Selling David Luiz is like selling the club most valuable player and if barcelona still insist then Messi for Luiz or else dont ever think of listing him.he is the future captain.up Chelsea

Come on people..I know Luiz is worth £50mil+ to us..but surely we need to be realistic..we cannot compare him to Messi..Messi is the best player in the world and is probably worth £100mil+..obviously they won’t let Messi be part of the deal! But PLEASE Chelsea..DON’T sell Luiz. Neither Ivanovic to Madrid! And please get van der Wiel! If we have a defense of Hutchinson, Ivanovic, van der Wiel, Cahill, Luiz, Terry, Bertrand, Cole…, would surely be the best defense in the league! Selling David Luiz to Barca is as crazy as selling Ramires or Ivanovic to R.Madrid. Luiz is undoubtedly one of Europe’s best, and with the way he’s metamorphosing, replacing such talent is going to be a huge task. If they must buy from us, our youth system shd be of immense service to them. Moreso they have a very bright academy they can plug from. In my opinion, our boy is unavailable at whatever cost nonetheless to our European rival. Hands off Barcelona!
