Spartak Moscow v Chelsea highlights – Zhirkov scores a belter!

Chelsea may have a lot of injury problems but Carlo Ancelotti still sent a reasonable team to play on the plastic pitch of Spartak Moscow, and they still won comfortably.

Yuri Zhirkov enjoyed his first return to Russia by scoring an absolute belter for the opening goal, and Chelsea had many more chances to extend their lead before Nicolas Anelka capped a fine solo effort by slipping the ball into the bottom corner to wrap up the game.

Chelsea relaxed afterwards and had little trouble conserving their energy for this weekends game, and the memory of the Champions League Final defeat to Manchester United at the same stadium was banished for ever!
