Former Red Devil Arthur Albiston believes the pressure will be on Chelsea in this weekend’s Premier League show-down between United and the Blues. Chelsea are three points behind United and can top the league on goal difference if they win the match. There will only be two games to play after the encounter meaning Chelsea will have the title within easy reach.
Manchester United face Shalked in a Champions League semi-final last night while Chelsea have the whole week free to rest and prepare.
Speaking to TalkSport Radio Albiston said: “All the pressure on Sunday is on Chelsea. They can’t win the league unless they win all three of their final matches. They’ve got to try and get a result. Man United have two results that they’ll take, a win or a draw”.
He continued: “If you’re playing at home with three games to go in front of 75,000 fans and you know if you win you’re probably going to win the league, I don’t think that’s pressure. They’d all like to be in that position”.
Chelsea surged ahead early in the season but suffered a mid-season collapse which left them 15 points adrift at one point. Since then they’ve made a strong come back and have the opportunity to beat Manchester United and Arsenal to the title at the very last moment.
