Vialli Backs Chelsea For Champions League Final

The former Chelsea manager and player Gianluca Vialli is backing the Blues to make it to the Champions League final this season. The Italian thinks his countryman Carlo Ancelotti has a team capable of reaching the final of Europe’s biggest competition, which will be held at Wembley Stadium.

Speaking to TalkSport Radio presenters Keys and Gray, Vialli said he was backing Chelsea and Real Madrid to reach the final this year. He said: “Chelsea are out of the championship race, I think, so they will be able to focus on the Champions League”.

He continued: “They have got a great side with great players, experienced players. They are very hungry to win the Champions League because they have been so close for so many years. They deserve to get at least to the final and I’m sure they will”

Vialli who managed Chelsea between 1998 and 2000 thinks that although Barcelona are favourites they won’t make the final. Speaking of Chelsea again he said: “Obviously, they need to be lucky with the draw in the next round but I’ve got a feeling that the final might be Chelsea-Real Madrid”.

Chelsea will play the 2nd leg against Copenhagen on the 16th of March. They won the first leg 2-0 in Copenhagen.
