Yaya Toure still wants Chelsea to sign him

The out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder is not happy about the time he is spending on the bench at the Champions League holders, according to his agent, and is desperately waiting for Chelsea or Man City to make a move for him.

His agent, Dmitri Seluk, blatantly put Toure in the shop window again, by saying: “I do not know if we will continue at Barcelona or not but one thing I can assure you is that we will not be on the bench. Of course we are not happy. It’s not normal.

“He is not playing and it’s strange for him not to have more minutes. If a club like Manchester City or Chelsea come in, we are open to negotiating with them. No problem at all.

“Barcelona cannot allow themselves to lose a player like Touré; the same would happen to them as happened to Liverpool when they lost Xabi Alonso. They would slip down.”

The strange thing is that this very same agent, just two weeks ago, reckoned that Toure WOULDN’T move to Man City, but wanted Chelsea or Man Utd! He also said there would be NO move in January!

He said: “Ferguson likes him at Manchester and they along with Chelsea are the teams that interest Touré. He would not go to Manchester City because he is only considering really big teams and of course those that are in the Champions League. We ruled out City anyway because they tried to negotiate with us in a bad way using his brother.

“He likes English football and wants to be at a club which plays good football like Manchester United and Chelsea. There will be no movement in January as he will be playing in the African Nations Cup but he will make a decision probably in April or May.”

Hmmm….it’s agents like that that annoy people like me!

But otherwise, there is hardly any room in the Chelsea midfield for Yaya at the Bridge anyway. That is one position we are fully stocked up in.
