Chelsea deny any interest in selling Joey
Joe Cole was on his way to Tottenham yesterday, according to the Daily Mirror and everyone else that copied their ridiculous rumour. The Mirror said: Spurs set to sign Chelsea star Joe Cole Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has launched a £10million raid for Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole.
Redknapp is a big admirer of England star Cole (above) after giving him his debut at West Ham and would love to take him to White Hart Lane.
The Spurs boss has already made some discreet enquiries as to whether Chelsea will be prepared to sell the 27-year-old.
Chelsea have obviously had enough of these stupid rumours linking some of our best players with rival teams, and decided to publish an official denial, just as they did with John Terry. In their usual inimitable style, (Chelsea are very economical with the statements) they said: Contrary to media reports Chelsea is not, and will not be, considering any offers for Joe Cole.
Our sole focus, as is Joe’s, is to complete his rehab and get him fit as soon as possible so that he can play a major part in the new season.
Hopefully that will be the last we’ll hear of this, but the media didn’t stop saying that John Terry would go to Man City, despite the official denial.
