Porto’s manager Andre Villas-Boas is being named the new Mourinho after his great success this season. He has guided his club to a 25th league title and to the Europa League final. Now he is being linked with several top European clubs including Chelsea.
But according to the Metro, Porto’s president Pinto Da Costa will do his best to keep the manager in Portugal. At a recent dinner to celebrate the Portuguese title he said: “Out of the thousands of times that he has been asked if he would be leaving for another club, he has always responded that he is in his dream position already”.
Speaking to Villas-Boas he said: “We want to see you happy in this job for many years, and we will provide you with the conditions so that this season is the first of many with the success that we all want”.
Porto have won the title with five games to spare in the league. They are unbeaten with 26 wins and three draws so far and they are now getting ready to face their Portuguese rivals Braga in the Europa League final.
Villas-Boas is one of a few candidates rumoured to be replacing Carlo Ancelotti this summer, the others include Guus Hiddink, Gianfranco Zola and Marco Van Basten.
