Sol Campbell picks Newcastle over Celtic and Sunderland

The transfer window is getting more interesting as the new season approaches, and the Sol Campbell saga has been second only to Joe Cole in the suspense stakes. But it is being reported today that Campbell has made a final decisuion to play for Newcastle next season.

A report on ESPN said: Newcastle United have managed to land former Arsenal and England defender Sol Campbell.

According to the Sunday Express, Campbell has had a verbal agreement with Magpies boss Chris Hughton and will sign a deal once he returns from his honeymoon.

The 35-year-old got married over the weekend and has now set up home in the North East.

Campbell left Arsenal at the end of last season with Glasgow Celtic among the clubs chasing his signature.

It would seem the sensible move for Campbell as him and his new bride have just finished getting their new house ready in Northumberland….
