West Ham United are in desperate straihts in the Premiership, but last night they made mincemeat of the League leaders Man Utd to reach the Carling Cup semi finals.
Alex Ferguson made ten changes from the side that scored 7 goals at the weekend, and they failed to make the grade.
Ferguson said after the game:”They were young players and there’s probably a lesson in there for them. You can’t just give goals away at this level.
“They were terrible goals, poor goals,” he lamented. “They’re too young to carry these types of mistakes. They are 20, 21 years old. They can’t make mistakes like this and still win.
“The young players will come on for this, they’ll remember it. But this could have been a very good opportunity to win the cup again.”
Watch United come very close at the beginning, but then get over-run!
