Both these teams lost their opening games so it was make or break time. It was probably the most exciting match of the tournament so far, with both sides attacking at every given opportunity.
The Danish defence were looking very nervous from the start, and after just ten minutes they contrived to give the ball away in their own half, and the brilliant Samuel Eto’o was never going to miss just yards from the goal.
But 20 mins later, Simon Kjaer sent a ball half the length of the pitch straight to the feet of Rommedahl, who crossed perfectly for Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner to score.
Denmark seemed to gain in confidence after that and fully deserved to get the winner when Rommedahl decided to go it alone and slotted it past the keeper.
A great game to watch. Enjoy!
