Germany looked unbeatable after demolishing Australia and were expected to qualify for the knockout rounds with another win here. They looked very good and controlled the early exchanges, but the referee was having a field day, handing out yellow cards left, right and centre, so it was no surprise when the referee finally sent of Klose for a second yellow.
A minute later Serbia were in front through Jovanovic after a brilliant run by Krasic down the wing, but it looked like the Germans were still in shock after Kloses’s sending off.
It was an uphill battle for the Germans after that and they couldn’t get back in it. The only surprise is that the referee didn’t send anyone else off!
