Most pundits expected Brazil to cruise to the finals, although Holland quietly fancied their chances. To most watchers, when Brazil went ahead through Robinho after just ten minutes, it looked like it was going to be a walkover.
Brazil continued their domination until half-time and had numerous chances to increase their lead. At half-time they must have thought they were well on their way to the semi-finals.
But in the second half they just fell apart. The Dutch suddenly started playing, and when Felipe Melo scored an own goal 8 minutes after the restart, the tide had well and trult turned.
Sneijder fully deserved to score the winner halfway through the half, and then Brazil took their frustration out by fouling the Netherlands at every opportunity.
This certainly was a game of two halves!
Enjoy!
